Literature Text

I was nobody....no, no....I was A nobody.

In this dark government , among the faces I was just a face.

I thought I was nothing special...nothing out of place.

You proved me wrong, how totally wrong, I was.

How swiftly you moved...into my life you came boldly!

You saved my life that night...saved me from becoming a statistic.

You must have been moved by my beautiful visage.

Or it might have been my vulnerability crying for justice...

Or you might have glimpsed the hidden strength in my soul...

Strength I didn't even know I had.

How was I to know that reflected in your face...no...your mask was my destiny?

Even as you forced me to grow...painfully...my heart was slowly overtaken.

By you...by the Man behind the Mask.

But you never let me see, touch, embrace you fully.

As if you were afraid of love...as if you were not worthy.

Not worthy of anything but your outrage and vengence...your eventual death.

People would've said that I loved the Idea of you...

But my Heart knew the Truth.

I am Bitter...heartbroken at the thought that you didn't fight for Us...

As strongly as we fought for Freedom.

I say now the words that I never got the chance to say to you before you died...

Even as your legend lives on...

I Love You, V For Vendetta!
